About Us
Cransley Sailing Cub is located in an idyllic valley just a few minutes from Kettering and is run entirely by volunteers.
Established in 1967 Cransley Sailing Club is one of the prettiest inland sailing areas in the county.
We pride ourselves on being a small, friendly club offering our members a competitive racing programme, training in all aspects of dinghy sailing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), model sailing and a wide range of social events.
We are a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre offering our members dinghy, power boat and safety boat courses.
Racing takes place every Saturday and Sunday from March to November on the water at 2.30pm and on Tuesdays from April to August at 7pm.
This summer, I learnt to sail with Nigel, Tom C, Charlie G and Rhian.
It was the best skill I have ever learnt. It wasn’t easy, but like all skills, it comes with practise. Just remember, persevere and you can do anything! I certainly was not keen on falling into the reservoir or getting wet at first, but I had made friends during this course that made me feel confident and [I admit] less worried about capsizing.
I would recommend this to anyone, because as long as you have fun and just enjoy, it, you’ll find yourself at a sailing event, having the time of your life! Aiyushi M – June 2022
